Taormina Film Festival 2014

The Taormina Film Festival has arrived at the 60th edition, and is preparing to celebrate big time. That which kicks off Saturday, June 14 is in fact an edition full of personality homegrown and Hollywood stars. The milestone is celebrated with lots of feminine presence of prominence. An all Claudia Cardinale, who will receive an award in the preview on June 13 Messina, but also Bo Derek, Melanie Griffith, Eva Longoria, Carmen Maura, Paz Vega, Christian Capotondi, Marina Cicogna, Paola Cortellesi, Kim Feenstra, Isabella Ferrari Vanessa Hessler, Fancesca Lo Schiavo, Margareth Madè, Vittoria Puccini, Valeria Solarino, Franca Sozzani and Barbara Tabita.

The opening of the film festival, directed by Mario Sesti and general manager Tiziana Rocca, will be held Saturday evening, just at the Ancient Theatre, with the premiere of “Dragon 2” in 3D, the presence of director Dean DeBlois and producer Bonnie Arnold. Second chapter of the trilogy about the adventures of the young Viking Hiccup and his dragon Toothless, the film will be released in Italy on August 16. The closure, on June 21 always in the picturesque setting of the theater, will be a double premiere: the first twenty minutes of “Apes Revolution. The film, released in Italy on June 19, follows the story of Caden Cotard (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman), a theater director frustrated, plagued by a mysterious illness and haunted by the fear of death. Left by his wife who intends to continue his career as a painter, Caden will attempt a brief relationship with a woman before her life mysteriously begins to change.
Another preview June 15, with “Jersey Boys” by Clint Eastwood, the version for the big screen namesake of the Tony Award-winning musical. The film tells the story of four guys from New Jersey who form a rock band, an icon of the ’60s, The Four Seasons.
