Catania, the University opens the doors to culture

The University of Catania, teamed up with a dozen associations and bodies involved, launched the initiative “Doors open at the University of Catania”, an event that will last a month – from 12 June to 12 July – and that provides a full calendar of events ranging from rock to jazz through shows of Sicilian puppets and chorus of laundresses in historic places.

Opening the event the event organized in the former Benedictine Monastery of Radio Lab, from six months of the issuer University Catania publisher, radio Zammù. The Central Building in University Square, the concert series entitled The Theatre Massimo Bellini in the Baroque.
And then the events dedicated to the Festival of the headquarters of the Frontier High School, in Cibali. Here will also perform in the chorus of a song entitled Massimo “chatter of women in the washroom.”
Also space for a preview of the Festival Zanne, the closure of laboratories refounded Teatro Machiavelli inside Palazzo Sangiuliano and Hot flowing pixels, a festival dedicated to computer graphics to be held at the Universitary Campus of Catania.

In the program there are also appointments with art films, with a retrospective of Wes Anderson in a special edition delLearn by movies in collaboration with Cinestudio. Special attention will be given also to the roots with the Sicilian Marranzano world festival and the study of the metaphors of war seen through the war of the sicilian puppets, with the group of Fratelli Napoli.
To conclude the long session of Catania jazz events will be the Jazz Marathon, which will see a final party with Brigantini.
